After being together for 8 years, more than anything Emily and Pepelu wanted to be able to have a wedding where, for one day, they could have all of the people we love most in one place. Something that many couples take for granted, but in their case it wasn’t so simple. Pepelu is from Spain and Emily from the United States and together they have visited and lived in many different places, and a huge part of who they are as a couple is their love for travel, exploring new cultures, foods, experiences, and meeting new people. At their wedding they knew there would be people from at least thirteen different countries, with a huge mix of cultures, languages, and tastes–each one of them representing a chapter of their lives. Because of this it was also imperative to keep in mind the bilingual aspect at all times, something they knew they could count on the Julieta in love team for. As far as the decoration they knew they wanted it to be minimalistic, yet romantic, with natural elements like greens and simple flowers combined with gold details throughout. We worked together on their vision and made it come to life in a way we had never imagined possible. We brought them an idea for a table setting and crafted it by hand, using actual moss to create a world map. Lighting was also of utmost importance to Emily and Pepelu. They dreamed of a night wedding in order to be able to incorporate something which they love–having dinner by candlelight. The strings of lights combined with the candelabras were the perfect touch and created the backdrop for an absolutely magical evening.
Emily: “Our wedding night is seared in our memories as hands down the best day of our lives and we wouldn’t change a thing about it. Gretel and her team made sure that every dream and every detail we had was executed without a hitch. There is no doubt in my mind that it would not have been the day it was without their eye for detail, incredible craftsmanship, and exceptional professionalism.”
